From the discussions in the previous two posts of this series, it can be inferred that Chile is currently eager to promote Geothermal Energy (GE), and may also be interested in CO2 EOR+ technology. No matter the case, a detailed and comprehensive characterization of the subsurface of the selected project areas should be required. Characterization that includes geophysical interpretation on horizons and faults, seismic attributes, and more (the post cover photo and the image below are courtesy of FREEPIK):

Also an stratigraphic analysis and modeling:

A robust petrophysical interpretation and modeling is crucial for accurately calibrating and validating geophysical and stratigraphic models, and volumes evaluation:
The next step is to incorporate the earlier findings into a geocellular/geostatistical model of the subsurface that encompasses all structural complexities and important rock properties, such as porosity, permeability, rock thermal conductivity, and so on. This geomodelling process must also involve assessing and managing uncertainties:

At the same time, using the historic and other siloed information available, it could be carry out Descriptive, Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics (Machine Learning, Deep Learning, etc.) to, for example in a case of a CO2 EOR+ project, identify the wells with higher probability of been successful if they are opened to production.
The image below shows a practical example of a Recommendation Engine, using real data from the Gulf San Jorge (Chubut, Argentina), hosted in Google Looker Studio. This example utilizes probabilities from a Machine Learning workflow implemented in Python in Google Colab:

Even more reliable results could be obtained by utilizing the DataRobot AI-powered platform, which considers hundreds of algorithms in its workflows, ranks results, and enables the user to select the best-performing one...
